About This Site

1A Auto Canada (1aauto.ca) is a product information and referral website operated by 1A Auto. We help Canadian drivers find quality aftermarket auto parts by providing product details, vehicle fitment data, and diagnostic video resources. We do not sell products directly — all purchases are completed on Amazon.ca.

Information We Collect

We are committed to collecting only what is necessary. Currently, this site:

  • Does not require user accounts or registration
  • Does not process payments or store financial information
  • Does not use analytics or tracking cookies
  • Does not collect names, email addresses or personal information through forms

Incidental technical data: Like all websites, our server infrastructure generates standard access logs when your browser loads pages or resources. These logs may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URL. Under Canadian privacy law, IP addresses can constitute personal information. These logs are used solely for security and operational purposes, are not used to identify you personally, and are not shared with any third parties beyond what is described in the Third-Party Services section below.

Third-Party Services

When your browser loads resources from third-party services embedded in this site, your IP address and browser information are transmitted directly to those services. This occurs regardless of any action you take. These transfers are governed by the respective third parties' privacy policies, which we link to below.

  • Google Fonts — We load typefaces (Plus Jakarta Sans and DM Sans) from Google's servers. Google may receive your IP address and browser information when fonts are loaded. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • YouTube — Our homepage includes a video thumbnail from YouTube. The full YouTube player only loads if you click play, at which point YouTube's standard privacy practices apply. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Amazon.ca — When you click a product link, you are directed to Amazon.ca. Your interaction with Amazon.ca is governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice.

Cookies

This site does not set any cookies through its own code. Third-party services (such as YouTube after you click play on a video) may set their own cookies according to their respective privacy policies.

Data Hosting

This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure infrastructure. Azure servers that host this site may be located outside of Canada (including the United States). Standard server access logs, which may include IP addresses, are retained on Azure infrastructure solely for security and operational purposes and are not used to identify you personally.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under the age of 14 and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Your Rights

Under Canadian privacy legislation (including PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25), you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information an organization holds about you
  • Access and correct your personal information
  • Withdraw consent for the collection or use of your information
  • Data portability — receive a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used format and, where technically feasible, have it transferred to another organization
  • De-indexation (right to erasure) — request that we cease disseminating your personal information, or that any link associated with your name be de-indexed, where its continued dissemination contravenes applicable law or is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected

Since we do not intentionally collect personal information, any incidental technical data such as server logs is minimal, used solely for operational purposes, and not attributable to identified individuals. As such, there is no personal profile or record to access, correct, port, de-index, or delete. If our data practices change in the future, we will update this policy and provide appropriate mechanisms for exercising each of these rights.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. If we begin collecting personal information, we will provide prominent notice of the change.
